NCCC ended the year with 680 points, which put us in third place!

Vacations and Outings Competition

As usual, CACCA will start off the competition year on September 10 with the individual Vacation and Outings Competition (2 slides/participant taken on a vacation or outing during the last year). Since this competition will be held the Saturday before NCCC meets, please send your 2 slides to Artie Harris to arrive prior to the September 10 date.

The regular monthly Interclub Pictorial Slide Competitions will resume on October 8. All competitions (prints and slides) are held at the Palos United Methodist Church, 121st and Harlem Ave., Palos Heights. The delegates' meeting begins at 12:30 pm and competitions at 1:00 pm. All are invited to attend these sessions.

Special category slides: 10//8 – reflections; 11/12 – color green; 12/10 – letter H (in title); 1/14 – motion; 2/11 – wild things; 3/11– cityscapes; 4/8 – sunrise / sunsets.

Nature prints, photojournalism slides and prints: 10/8, 12/10 and 2/11/06. Nature slides, alteration of reality slides and prints: 11/12/05, 1/14/06, and 3/11/06.

Other dates: spring salon: 3/18/06; Awards banquet: 6/11/06

CAPS School

Plan to attend the one-day CAPS School, which will be held on Sunday, October 30 at Elgin Community College Business Center in Elgin, IL from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The cost is $60 for camera club members and $75 for non-members. Participants may choose between an all-day program on "Managing the Digital Image" presented by Tim Grey and Ben Wilmore or a selection of 11 one-hour programs under the general title of Expanding Photographic Skills and Artistry.

For two of the 11 programs, Mark Southard will be a presenter on "Digital Darkroom" parts I and II.
